The Superronik model 60" Sblitz is a further development of their Blitz combat wing. The 60" Sblitz is designed almost specifically for the UK EPP slope pylon racing rules. The design of the model allows it to be split into two halves in order to easily take ballast as well as the obvious benefits to transportation. A smaller 52" version of the kit is also available and both are extensively pre fabricated. The cost of the 60! Sblitz is £85 plus P&P.
The model is very quick to accelerate and has a superior climbout over other similar designs. It is definitely not a tight turning combat wing but carries momentum wonderfully. It has a presence when flying and does not suffer wagging like other swept wing designs. It is very smooth and flies more like a 'crunchy' than a 'foamie'. It suffers a little from being overweight when the lift is light and the wind low (sub 10mph) but the ability to ballast will see an almost unlimited upper end of the flight envelope.
The performance is unhindered by the fact that it is an EPP model. The 6 spars hold the wing very rigidly with a negligible almost imperceptible amount of flex, yet it will still bounce if you arrive a little hard.
The 60" Sblitz is a very nice flying aeroplane for a very reasonable price.
