BMFA Affiliated
Club No. 357
Although we do fly helicopters at TMFC there is no facility to train new
pilots and very little space to allow beginners time to practice while others
fly.
Our rules dictate that helicopters cannot fly on the same flight line as fixed
wing while models are in the air and that fixed wing will always take
precedence over rotary. Although we have two runways, the 'main' runway
is only available for hovering while the crosswind is active and that is wind
dependent.
On quiet days there is no problem with members flying anything they want
but when busy it can be possible that no helicopters get to fly at all.
We always welcome new fliers at our club but only allow pilots to fly
helicopters once they have passed through the TMFC wings for fixed wing.
